Applications
ENERGEX® AC cables may be used for branch, feeder and service for distribution in commercial, industrial, and multi-residential construction. They may be used in patient areas of hospitals, out-patient centers and medical and dental offices. They are not permitted where hazardous anesthetizing is performed. They may also be used in applications which require AC cable with a redundant ground in accordance with NEC Article 250.118(8). They are suitable for installation in accordance with applicable requirements of NEC Articles 320 and 517. These cables may be installed exposed, concealed or in cable tray and may be run in spaces used for environmental air in accordance with NEC Article 300.22(C) ONLY.
Nexans AC HCF cable is LEAD FREE and RoHS compliant.
Construction
Conductor:
Solid conductors are soft bare annealed copper to ASTM B3. Stranded conductors are soft bare annealed copper to ASTM B3 and ASTM B8.
Insulation:
PVC/Nylon type THHN in accordance to UL 83, flame resistant, meeting UL VW-1 flame test.
Bond Wire:
Longitudinal aluminum bond wire (16 AWG) in contact with armor.
Ground Wire:
Bare copper, sized in accordance with NEC and UL, with green THHN insulation.
Assembly:
Conductors are individually paper wrapped and cabled with a marker tape/core protection tape combination which assembles the core in an essentially round configuration.
Armor:
Interlocking aluminum tape armor applied directly over the core.
