RateKit Thermal Rating ToolKit is the first fully integrated transmission line rating program that combines steady state and transient rating programs with calculation modules for loss of strength and high temperature sag calculations. It is equally useful to engineers, planners, dispatchers, and operations supervisors in answering questions such as:
- What is the temperature increase during a 10-minute emergency?
- What is the loss of strength resulting from a recent 2-hour emergency?
- How much does the temperature of the conductor change if the wind drops to zero?
- What is the sag error introduced by manufacturing varions in conductor properties?
RateKit Version 5.0 offers the following benefits in comparision to 4.0:
- RateKit 5.0 provides calculations in a batch mode, with abilities to either graph the results or to transfer them to Excel for further processing. For example, you can graph or tabulate line ratings with varying temperature or wind speed assumptions, or create tables for different conductors for the same seasonal rating assumptions.
- RateKit 5.0 provides true dynamic calculations with time-variable assumptions. For example, you can easily calculate the conductor temperature under different remedial action assumptions following a contingency event or calculate the conductor temperature during a time-varying wind speed or direction.
