In addition to providing real-time transmission capacity information to help optimize transmission assets, the CAT-1 system also enables the collection of key line performance data over extended periods of time. Periodic analysis of this data can reveal valuable insights into the overall capabilities of your lines over time, temperature, and seasons.
CAT-1 System Support Program (SSP) customers can choose to participate in our Quarterly Line Evaluation Program with the following benefits:
- Initial line capability report
- Capacity and rating distribution analysis to establish a benchmark, and to help identify new operating parameters (i.e. increased static rating) for the monitored line;
- Seasonal capability analysis
- Ongoing study of line rating behavior over time to help determine optimal limits across varying seasons and for different operational conditions;
- Quarterly summary report
- Concise report highlighting significant findings and/or differences in line performance and behavior.
