Nexans has been manufacturing underground high voltage cables in Europe since the late 1960s.  The newest addition to the group is Nexans High Voltage USA Inc.  This facility manufactures high voltage, 69kV to 550kV, XLPE, solid dielectric underground cables, up to 5,000 kcmil for the North American, South American and Caribbean markets. 

Construction on the 350,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Goose Creek, SC began in 2012 and is now complete.  In addition to cables, Nexans also manufactures accessories and provides full service cable installation by our experienced technicians.

About the Local Area

Charleston is a major tourist destination, with a considerable number of historical buildings, luxury hotels and B&Bs.  Higher education is also an important sector in the local economy, occupied by many institutions such as the Medical University of South Carolina, College of Charleston, The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and Charleston School of Law among others.  One of the city’s most recognizable sites is the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, the longest cable-stayed bridge in the Americas.

Located approximately 20 miles north of Charleston, in the southern end of Berkeley County, Goose Creek is the 12th largest municipality in the state of South Carolina.  Goose Creek is home to 36,000 people.  Nexans’ new high voltage facility joins several multi-national corporations, national retail chains and local ‘mom and pop’ businesses that call Goose Creek home.
